Bsure DNA-test
DNA test against an allergic filler reaction
Bsure DNA-test
A filler treatment is a safe, non-surgical cosmetic treatment. However, sometimes things can go wrong, even if the treatment has been carried out correctly and professionally. You may have a genetic predisposition that makes your own immune system react extremely to the fillers. The fillers are then rejected by your body, which can cause lifelong discomfort. To determine whether this is the case with you, the Bsure DNA test for filler treatments can play a crucial role. The Bsure DNA test is a product of Bsure Medical.

Where can I take the Bsure DNA test?
You can book a test at The Body Clinic. During the appointment, the doctor will take DNA from your saliva. It is also possible to pick up the test at our clinic, by appointment, and to perform the test yourself at home using the enclosed instructions.
What does the test involve?
The Bsure DNA test is taken from saliva. The sample is then returned to the lab for analysis. After the sample has been received in the lab you will receive the results from your doctor at The Body Clinic within 10 to 14 days. This can be done by telephone, in person or by email.
Results of the Bsure DNA test
The test shows whether you have a genetic predisposition to severe rejection reactions after a filler treatment. If the test gives a positive result, you have an 84% chance of a severe rejection reaction. A positive result of the Bsure DNA test confirms that you have this genetic predisposition. It is then not recommended to proceed with a filler treatment.

FAQ
I have had a filler treatment before and have not experienced any complaints, should I still take a test?
If you have already undergone a fillers treatment once without any problems, the risk of serious complications in the future is of course smaller, nevertheless the test may also be of interest to you.
Can I be allergic to fillers?
An allergy is a reaction of our immune system to a foreign substance, in this case a filler. If you have a specific HLA combination in your DNA, your body can react to an extreme extent when a filler is injected. This can be examined by the Bsure DNA test. You can therefore be allergic to fillers, but this is very rare. If you have a positive test on the Bsure DNA test, you have an 84% chance of a serious immune response from your body. You will then be advised to not do any filler treatment
What kind of complications in filler treatments is the BSure DNA test for?
Dermal fillers can cause mild, temporary complications, such as localized inflammation or irritation. These complications usually disappear after a few weeks or are treatable. The Bsure DNA test shows whether you have an increased risk of serious complications caused by a genetic predisposition that makes your own immune system react extremely strongly to fillers. These are the so-called late-onset immune-mediated chronic side effects. The chance of these reactions is small (1 to 2%), but the consequences are complex and serious.
I have already had filler treatments. What should I do if the DNA test result is positive?
A doctor from The Body Clinic, who is a member of the BSure network, will discuss the results with you. This doctor will provide appropriate advice, possibly in collaboration with the Bsure medical-scientific advisory team.
When will I receive the results of the DNA test?
If you have sent the DNA sample, the doctor will contact you within 2 weeks to discuss the results of the test.
Do I have to do this test before every filler treatment?
With the current knowledge we can say that the test is one-time and the result is valid for life. If the test is positive, you have an 84% chance of a severe rejection reaction from your body.
Can I also order this test for home?
The Bsure DNA test can be purchased at The Body Clinic by appointment. You can have the doctor perform the test or you can take the test home and follow the instructions.
Can I also receive the results of the test at home?
No, the results are provided by a doctor from The Body Clinic. The doctor will contact you and give you the results of the test by telephone, e-mail or during a personal meeting in the clinic.
Can I develop a genetic predisposition over the years?
Your DNA is determined at birth and cannot change over the years. So you cannot develop a genetic predisposition.
