The PlexR is often associated with tightening upper and lower eyelids, but you can also treat smoker’s lines with it. Branco Mitrovic: “The PlexR is not only suitable for skin tightening around your eyes, but can also be used for reducing wrinkles.”
Practically all wrinkles can be treated with the PlexR. “PlexR works on the basis of plasma created as a result of ionized gas molecules. But there is more. As soon as the energy beam comes into contact with your skin, it creates a pointed arc of charged plasma. In response to this touch your skin fibers contract, creating a lifting effect
.”
The PlexR provides biostimulation in the deeper skin layers, resulting in new production of collagen and elastin fibers.
The PlexR removes excess skin while simultaneously tightening your skin. “The energetic plasma causes ‘sublimation,’ or in other words, it evaporates the skin. This sublimation directly reduces skin excess, but in the deeper skin layers it also shrinks elastin fibers.”

And so the PlexR is also suitable for reducing smoking lines. “If you apply this technique properly, this way you can very precisely tighten the skin around the mouth and soften smoker’s lines.”
The treatment also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. Says Branco, “The action of PlexR is quite superficial, meaning that the plasma jet does not reach the basal cell layer of the skin. But the treatment provides does provide biostimulation in the deeper skin layers, resulting in new production of collagen and elastin fibers.”
Although the PlexR remains on the surface, it does not mean that there are no risks and/or side effects (see article: red skin after PlexR) to the treatment. “The PlexR is a relatively new treatment, but one of the most effective and safe methods. But as with many treatments, it is important for the PlexR to be performed by a specially trained physician.“
