The Sculptra treatment
Before you can be treated with Sculptra, you will complete a health statement and treatment agreement. Then the doctor will take pictures for your medical records. After the doctor marks off the area to be treated, a few punctures will be made in the area to be treated. A treatment with Sculptra takes between twenty and thirty minutes. The treatment is generally not perceived as painful, although the experience of pain varies among individuals.

Results of the Sculptra treatment
The results of Sculptra are visible after 8 weeks, after which we recommend a follow-up treatment. Sculptra is a bio stimulator and the results build up. After treatment, some redness and swelling may occur in the treated area. In an occasional case, bruising may occur. You will be given a post-treatment protocol, outlining any limitations after treatment with Sculptra. Important: You should massage the area itself well (5 days, 5 times a day, massage for 5 minutes) after the treatment.

Combination treatment: Sculptra and Morpheus8
Sculptra and Morpheus8 are treatments that, when combined, provide a holistic approach for the ultimate in collagen stimulation. Sculptra stimulates the growth of fibroblasts. These are cells responsible for the production of collagen. Morpheus8 works with radio frequency, the skin is heated in a controlled manner during the treatment. Heating the skin prompts the fibroblasts in the skin to produce collagen.
The combination of Sculptra and Morpheus8 provides additional stimulation to the increased number of fibroblasts. As a result, more collagen is produced. This combination treatment is therefore considered the ultimate collagen stimulating treatment.
What to do before and after the Sculptra treatment
After making a Sculptra appointment, please be present half an hour before the Sculptra treatment so that we can apply the numbing cream. To prevent bruising, our advice is not to take blood-thinning medication such as Aspirin, Naproxen or Ibuprofen for five days before treatment with Sculptra, possibly in consultation with your doctor. Please do not drink alcohol 48 hours in advance. Five days before treatment with Sculptra, we recommend that you stop all vitamins, fish oil and dietary supplements. You may want to start Arnica drops (highest dose) five days before treatment.
We recommend staying out of the sun and not using a sauna or tanning bed for the first week after a Sculptra treatment. In the first two weeks after treatment, we recommend that you do not undergo laser, peels or other facial treatments. Makeup in the treated area is not allowed for the first few hours after treatment with Sculptra. You should massage the treated area every day, for the first two weeks, according to the doctor‘s instructions.
Bruising and swelling may occur after treatment with Sculptra. Swelling often lasts no longer than 2-3 days. You can camouflage bruises just a few hours after treatment.

Will I get an unnatural appearance from using the filler Sculptra?

Can you get lumps from using the drug Sculptra?
Sometimes a small accumulation occurs in deeper skin layers. This is temporary and not visible (but perceptible). One can prevent this by massaging the treated area well for the first twenty days after treatment.
Can Sculptra also be injected into the lips?
Sculptra is not suitable as an injectable for lip filling. Sculptra is a means of creating volume and therefore not suitable for lips. The doctors at The Body Clinic use a hyaluronic acid for the lips. This filler gives a natural and beautiful result.
How long does it take to see the effects of a treatment with Sculptra?
Although a nice effect can be seen immediately after treatment, it disappears again after about a day. Then it takes about six months to see the optimal effect. You can follow up with Sculptra after just two months because most collagen is produced in the first two months.
Can I go out in the sun after a treatment with Sculptra?
Although the sun accelerates skin aging, after redness and any swelling have subsided, you may simply go out in the sun. If a bruise has appeared during treatment, you do need to wait for it to disappear before going out in the sun. However, we always recommend using a sunscreen to prevent skin aging.
Is treatment with Sculptra painful?
Treatment with the wrinkle filler Sculptra is generally not perceived as painful, although the experience of pain varies from individual to individual. Today, Sculptra is mixed with Lidocaine, a substance that has an anesthetic effect. Doctors at The Body Clinic also often use cold packs to reduce pain.
Does my skin need to be tested before treatment with Sculptra?
The injectable Sculptra consists of a biodegradable substance that is identical to the body’s own substances. Sculptra contains no human or animal ingredients. There is virtually no risk of allergic reactions. Thus, you do not need to undergo an allergy test beforehand.
