The treatment
Before treatment, we will take photographs for your personal file. These are for later reference, e.g. for when you return for your check-up to discuss the results. Please make sure you arrive at our clinic 30 minutes before your appointment is due, so we can apply the anaesthetic Emla cream and give it time to work in. After treatment, you will receive a post-treatment information sheet. At your check-up, we will take further photographs for your file.

We at The Body Clinic prefer using products conservatively and adding some extra later rather than going all-out at our first opportunity. This is how we can guarantee our most natural, beautiful results. What The Body Clinic physicians like about Teosyal is its versatility. As a hyaluronic acid, it provides natural hydration and stimulates collagen formation, improving the skin. But no matter how versatile a product, we always keep our eye on the client’s needs and options. We give honest advice and provide clients with a personalised treatment plan. Our aim is for everyone to radiate youthfulness; to look fresh, not artificial. After all, most of us just want to look better, not different. This is why, when it comes to beauty treatments, we always say: less is more.
Before and after the treatment
You should arrive 30 minutes before treatment so we can apply our numbing cream. To prevent bruising, it is better not to take any alcohol from up to 48 hours before Teosyal treatment. We advise you to start taking Arnica drops five days before the procedure. You should stop taking fish oil pills, vitamins and dietary supplements starting five days before treatment. As Aspirin, Brufen and Naproxen thin the blood, make sure not to use any of these for a few days prior to your treatment. In case you take these on a regular basis, you may want to consult your family doctor on the matter.
Do not apply make-up in the first few hours after a Teosyal treatment. For the first week post-treatment, avoid direct sunlight to the treated area. Do not visit a sauna or tanning salon in the first week either, or a have laser, peel, scrub treatment, or any other beauty treatment for that matter. After 2 weeks you are invited back for a check-up appointment at our clinic.
For the first few days after Teosyal treatment you may suffer some swelling or bruising. The swelling will disappear after a few days. You are allowed to camouflage bruises a few hours post-treatment.
You will be able to enjoy the effects of your Teosyal treatment for approximately a year. The effects, however, vary between individuals. In very rare circumstances, the body accelerates the degradation of Teosyal. In this case, we will consider whether you qualify for a different type of filler.

The Body Clinic offers free, no obligation consultations prior to treatment with one of its physicians. During a consultation, we check to see if you qualify for treatment, chart your problem areas and give you tailor-made treatment advice. If you wish, you can have a Teosyal filler treatment on the same day.
Safety
Teosyal is a hyaluronic acid that has been on the market for years and whose safety has been proven over the long term. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally occurring in the human skin. Allergic reactions are therefore highly unlikely: an added advantage of this injectable. Another advantage is that hyaluronic acid can be dissolved in a substance known as Hyason. This fluid removes the Teosyal from the skin within days, reversing the Teosyal treatment.

Are all Teosyal treatments at The Body Clinic carried out by a qualified physician?
Yes, they are. Only physicians are qualified to carry out this procedure. Our physicians at The Body Clinic are a member of the NVCG and BIG registered.
Is Teosyal a hyaluronic acid?
Teosyal is a hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is the active ingredient in Teosyal. Other fillers based on hyaluronic acid are Juvederm and Restylane.
Won’t Teosyal treatments make me look unnatural?
The physicians at The Body Clinic always take the natural ageing process as a guide for cosmetic correction. We only add volume in places where volume has been lost. This guarantees a beautifully natural result. For our work method, please look under physicians or philosophy. Are you not satisfied with how natural the results are? Then there’s always a possibility to inject hyazon, a substance that will dissolve the filler Restylane within hours.
Will I get lumps from using Teosyal filler?
Restylane does not cause granulomas, or lumps. In earlier days permanent fillers were used. Permanent fillers have a different chemical composition which allows them stay in the skin permanently. Sometimes the composition would trigger the body’s natural defence system to resist the injectable. This reaction can cause formation of granulomas, or bumps. Restylane is made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid cannot evoke such a reaction because it is a substance that occurs naturally in the body.
Can I go out into the sun after Teosyal treatment?
You must avoid the sun for 1 week after being treated with the injectable Restylane.
When can I get back to work after a Teosyal treatment?
A Restylane treatment is truly a lunchtime treatment. Aside from a little redness and swelling and sometimes a tiny bruise, Restylane treatment is invisible. In other words – you can go back to work straight away.
Is a Teosyal injection procedure painful?
Teosyal treatment is generally considered not painful, although individual variation in pain sensation may be expected. The physicians at The Body Clinic often use anaesthetic cream and cold packs to make the treatment more comfortable.
When will I start noticing results after a Teosyal treatment?
The results are immediately noticeable. However, the effect tends to become a little less pronounced in the days following treatment, because the initial swelling subsides, which has a temporary filling effect.
Should my skin be tested?
Teosyal consists of a biodegradable substance identical to the body’s own. Restylane does not contain any human or animal substances. There is practically no risk of allergic reaction. So there’s no need for you to take an allergy test prior to the procedure.
