Threadlift PDO Princess for cleavage

PDO thread lift

As a cosmetic procedure, the PDO thread lift is still relatively unknown. Unjustly so, because it’s an extremely effective procedure, yielding wonderful results. The PDO thread lift rejuvenates the cleavage with sutures or threads, hence the name ‘thread lift’. The lift is carried out with the use of bio-degradable sutures. These have been tried and tested in surgery world-wide for years as dissolvable stitches. During a thread lift treatment, our doctor at The Body Clinic inserts these sutures into a deep layer of your skin.

Why a PDO thread lift treatment?

A thread lift can temporarily rejuvenate the cleavage, as it tightens and lifts the skin. In short, rejuvenate the area around your neck without the need for an invasive facelift or surgery!

A PDO thread lift bears all the advantages of a non-surgical intervention. For example, the recovery period of this treatment is very brief. What’s more – the sutures dissolve by themselves and the effect of the treatment is founded on the power of your own natural collagen. A PDO procedure is best suited for men and women between the ages of 30 and 65.

The treatment

After you have filled out your health attestation and sign our treatment contract, we’ll take some photographs of the treatment area and apply a numbing cream to it. Subsequently, our doctor places the dissolvable stitches in the deep tissue of your skin. You will feel a small prick during the procedure. Naturally, before the procedure we will have discussed just what type of sutures and how many of them we should use for your PDO thread lift.

After the threads are placed, they attach themselves to the subdermal tissue where they create tension in the desired direction. This causes the skin to stretch a little. The pressure on the tissue encourages the body to produce its own, new collagen around the suture. This process both strengthens and smoothens the skin. The sutures will dissolve over time. At any time you desire, extra sutures can be inserted.

Natural result

The dissolvable stitches used in the PDO thread lift do not just lift; they stimulate collagen production as well, thereby affecting an even more natural result. However, there is no risk of your cleavage being stretched too thinly. Our doctors employ a very fine network of small threads, making sure that at no point too much tension on the skin is created. This ensures that you retain your natural glow. Eventually the threads dissolve completely. The extra collagen produced in the suture area will revitalise your skin.

Before and after the treatment

Before the treatment

We advise you to be present half an hour in advance of your treatment, so that we can administer the numbing cream. For a speedier recovery, you should take Arnica drops starting five days before your treatment. Arnica drops are available at our clinic or at any chemist’s. In consultation with your family doctor, you should quit taking any blood-thinning medication such as Naproxen, Ascal of Ibuprofen for five days in advance of your procedure.

After the treatment

You may immediately cool the treated area at our clinic. We advise you keep out of the sun during the first week post-treatment or at the very least to apply sunscreen to the treated area multiple times a day. For the best results, be ultra gentle with your skin. Do not touch it on the day of treatment and do not apply any make-up to the treated area for the first 12 hours. Avoid visiting the sauna or taking a steam bath during the first week as well.

Recovery time

Directly after treatment, some swelling may occur and the treated area may be a bit painful. Moreover, the site of injection might become red and lightly swollen. In addition, you may experience some discoloration to your skin. All these side effects are purely temporary.

Effect duration

The effects of your procedure will already be slightly apparent directly post-treatment. The full effect will come into view in about six weeks. At any time, additional suture lines can be placed. The effects of this treatment will be visible for a longer period. Our doctor will be able to inform you on this.

Free intake

During your intake appointment, you will be given the option to meet your treating physician. Your wishes and expectations, the condition of your skin, the state of your health and other details will be evaluated in order to provide you with a well-considered opinion. We will discuss with you the costs of treatment and any possible alternatives.

Safety

Suture treatment is carried out as a medical cosmetic procedure worldwide. Our physicians at the Body Clinic are highly experienced and expertly trained in this procedure. Apart from the previously mentioned discomfort and swelling, suture procedures have no side effects. The sutures are made of a material known as Polydioxanon. Polydioxanon is used in general surgery and is completely safe. The sutures dissolve within the next 180 days. No remains are left. Meanwhile, the body produces its own collagen. The results of a PDO thread lift are immediately visible and look optimal after six weeks.

FAQ

Which types of sutures are used for this procedure?

The PDO thread lift treatment uses dissolvable sutures made of a very safe material known as Polydioxanon. The sutures are placed inside the tissue with an ultra-thin needle. In this way the procedure is minimally invasive.

What effect do the sutures have?

There are different types of sutures for different ends. Usually sutures have a skin-supporting function, making the skin tighter and more vital. Depending on the type of suture used, the skin can be lifted or even entirely reshaped. The durability and extent of the treatment’s effect vary, and the type of suture is a factor in this as well. Your doctor at The Body Clinic will be able to tell you more about this, if you want.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure takes between 15 and 40 minutes, depending on the area to be treated.

When will the results of the treatment become apparent?

The results should be slightly visible immediately following the procedure. You will see the full effect after an average of six weeks.

How long will the effect last?

The durability depends on the type of sutures used. This varies from 6 to 18 months. Your doctor will be able to make a more accurate prediction. Additional sutures can be easily inserted in the meantime.

Is there a recovery period after the treatment? If so, how long?

The recovery period takes up to three days on average, depending on the treatment.

What side effects can I expect?

Thread lifts are extremely safe. Because of the subdermal tension from the sutures, you may experience some discomfort or skin irritation in the first few hours. Migraines can also occur. These symptoms are easily treated with Panadol. Very rarely, mild swelling occurs, or a small wound or itch appears, for example at the injection site. This dissipates over time. You can shorten this period with the use of an ice pack.

Fortunately, infections are rare and only occur if the critical area is contaminated by direct contact, e.g. as a result of the use of unclean water. Hygiene is of the utmost importance. Clean the treated area properly. Contact your doctor immediately if unknown side effects occur or if you have an intense adverse reaction. The doctor will help take care of the issue.

How much does a cleavage thread lift cost?

Prices start at €400.
