What does a PRP treatment entail?

In PRP, blood is drawn from your arm and centrifuged to separate platelets from red and white blood cells. The result is a concentrated solution with extra platelets and growth factors. This is injected into the treated area and stimulates natural healing and rejuvenation of skin and hair follicles.

Free consultation with the doctor

The doctor discusses your wishes and draws up a customized treatment plan. Contraindications such as bleeding disorders, active infections, or certain medications are screened to assess whether PRP is safe and suitable for you.

Preparation for the treatment

The doctor goes through the treatment with you step by step and answers any questions. Your skin is cleansed to remove make-up residues and dirt, allowing us to start clean and safely.

The treatment

We draw a small amount of blood from your arm (approximately 10-20 ml). This blood is placed in special tubes and centrifuged, concentrating the platelets. The PRP is then sterilely aspirated and directly injected into your skin. The entire treatment takes 30-45 minutes.

Recovery at the clinic

After the treatment, you can optionally cool the treated area and recover quietly at the clinic. The doctor will discuss with you what you can and cannot do in the coming hours and days. You can resume your daily activities almost immediately.

Follow-up appointment

For optimal results, we recommend a course of 3 treatments with 1 month rest in between. Make a follow-up appointment after your treatment at the clinic.

Before and aftercare

Before the treatment

Stop taking supplements, vitamins, and fish oil 5 days before the treatment. Do not use ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin for a week beforehand (consult your doctor). Do not drink alcohol or smoke 24-48 hours before the treatment. Drink plenty of water on the day of the treatment. Ensure that the area to be treated is clean when you come to the clinic.

After the treatment

During the first 24 hours, we advise avoiding intense exercise, sauna, solarium, and alcohol consumption. Protect the skin well with SPF30+. Wait at least 1 week before undergoing beauty treatments or peelings. If the PRP treatment has taken place on the scalp, you can wash your hair the next day with a mild shampoo.

Recovery time

After the treatment, temporary redness, slight swelling, sensitivity, or small bruises may occur. These usually disappear within a few days and can be camouflaged. In case of concerns or complications, contact the clinic.

Duration of results

The result develops gradually. For skin rejuvenation, optimal improvement in texture and radiance is often visible after 4-6 weeks. For hair growth, the first results become visible after 8-12 weeks. The effect generally lasts 6-12 months.
