How can you remove acne scars?

Treating acne scars with a hyaluronic acid filler is relatively unknown. However, the result is remarkable. Besides filling in dimples, indentations, and other irregularities in your face, hyaluronic acid also improves skin. A filler with hyaluronic acid attracts moisture (water), which provides more volume in your face and also hydration. By filling the dimples or craters in your skin from the inside, the skin regains approximately the same volume as the surrounding skin. This means you no longer have to hide the scars.

After the acne scar treatment

After the hyaluronic acid filler treatment, your skin will look much smoother and calmer. It's good to know that this treatment does not change anything else about your face; it is purely about filling in the scars. A hyaluronic acid filler treatment will also stimulate your own collagen production in the skin.

How does an acne scar treatment work?

Upon arrival at our clinic in Amsterdam or Duiven, your health will first be assessed using a medical questionnaire. Photos will also be taken so that you can review the results with the doctor during the follow-up appointment (two weeks after the first treatment). Subsequently, the area where the scars are located will be numbed with a cream. This ensures that the treatment is virtually painless. Of course, this varies per person.

Removing Acne Scars

The doctor carefully examines the area and discusses with you the possibilities of filling the scars with hyaluronic acid. Scars in the form of dark or red spots (hyperpigmentation) and scars with tissue overgrowth can also be treated – to a somewhat lesser extent. Facial scars with tissue loss are in most cases very suitable for treatment with a hyaluronic acid filler.

The price for removing acne scars is 500 euros per treatment. Usually, one treatment is sufficient, but in some cases, the cosmetic doctor may recommend a second treatment for optimal results.
