HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. HIFU is a non-surgical treatment that elevators and firms the skin from the inside out. The device uses focused ultrasound waves – similar to those used in medical ultrasounds – to create heat deep within the skin. How does HIFU work?

Preparation for the HIFU treatment
To achieve the best results and make the treatment comfortable, we ask you to consider the following points:
- Come to the clinic at least 15 minutes beforehand.
- Anesthesia is usually not necessary, but we can apply a numbing cream if desired. In that case, come 30 – 60 minutes earlier.
- Avoid 5 days before treatment:
- Peelings or exfoliating products
- Sunbathing or tanning bed
- On the day of the treatment, make sure your skin is clean:
- No makeup
- No creams or other care products on the area to be treated
During treatment, we ensure comfort, precision and effectiveness. This is what you can expect:
- The skin is cleansed and marked for precise treatment.
- A cooling gel is applied.
- The ultrasound head is moved over the skin on the areas to be treated.
- You will feel short, warm stimuli deep in the skin, this is the sign that collagen production is being stimulated.
- The treatment is usually well tolerated.
- The session lasts an average of 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the area.
- Afterwards, the skin may be slightly red or sensitive, but this quickly goes away.
- You can immediately resume your daily activities.
HIFU treatment requires no recovery time, but a mild skin reaction is normal:
- The skin may be red or slightly swollen after treatment; this normally subsides within a few days.
- Some people experience temporary mild sensitivity or a tingling sensation, similar to muscle pain. These reactions are normal and normally disappear within a few days.
- Avoid bright sun for the first few days. Always use sun protection of at least SPF30.
- You can immediately return to work or resume other activities.
The results develop gradually and are subtle but visible:
