Which eyelid correction treatment is right for me?
To determine which eyelid correction is best for your situation, we recommend that you visit one of our clinics for a free consultation. With a surgical upper eyelid correction, the excess skin above your eye is removed by means of an incision (cut) in the crease of your eyelid. If you want a correction under your eyes or if you do not want a surgical treatment, an eyelid correction with PlexR may be the right solution for you. A combination of surgical upper eyelid correction and lower eyelid correction with PlexR is also an option. During the consultation with one of our specialists, you will discuss together which treatment is best for you.
Safety
Both a surgical upper eyelid correction and a non-surgical eyelid correction with PlexR are extremely safe and relatively simple procedures. Our doctors have years of experience and only use the best tested products and materials. There is a risk to every operation, but the risks with an eyelid correction are minimal.
Free consult
Before you can be treated on your eyelids, you must make an consult appointment with one of our doctors to assess which treatment best suits your situation. Your health is mapped and possible alternatives are discussed. Pictures are also taken of the area to be treated. Any lifestyle rules before and after the treatment are discussed with you and side effects and risks are identified.

FAQ
When should I consider an eyelid correction?
Overhanging eyelids and bags under the eyes often give a tired appearance, in addition, overhanging eyelids can also cause complaints.
How come my eyelids have started to droop?
The cause of drooping eyelids is often aging, but heredity can also play a role.
What types of eyelid surgery do you perform?
At The Body Clinic we perform an upper eyelid correction (surgery or Plexr), a lower eyelid correction (Plexr) or a combination of these. In addition to the classic method in which excess skin is removed with a scar that falls exactly in the eye crease, we also offer the non-invasive option without cutting using Plexr.
What does an eyelid correction cost?
The price of an eyelid correction depends on the treatment you choose. A surgical upper eyelid correction costs 950 euros, a non-surgical Plexr upper or lower eyelid correction costs 600 euros.
Are the costs for an eyelid correction reimbursed by the insurance?
An eyelid correction is in principle a cosmetic procedure and is therefore not reimbursed by the health insurer in most cases. Only in exceptional cases can an eyelid correction be performed on medical grounds. An important criterion here is that when looking straight ahead, the upper eyelid crease covers a substantial part of the pupil of the eye. If your vision correction has a medical indication, the treatment is reimbursed from the basic insurance and it does not matter which additional insurance you have. You must arrange this yourself with your insurance company, we do not provide insured care ourselves.
Will I be numbed during an eyelid surgery?
During the upper eyelid correction (operation) you will be locally anesthetized with an injection. Only the area around your eyes is numbed so that you do not experience pain while correcting your eyelids. With a Plexr treatment for above or under the eye, you will be locally anesthetized with an anesthetic cream.
Do I have to stay in the clinic overnight?
An eyelid correction is a fairly short procedure. You can usually go home half an hour after the procedure. You are not allowed to go home alone, arrange to be picked up.
Is an eyelid correction painful?
Since you will be locally anesthetized prior to an eyelid correction, you will not feel much of the procedure. You may experience some after-pain after the procedure. However, this pain can be suppressed with paracetamol.
Will I get a scar after an eyelid correction?
Scars occur with every surgical intervention, including for the upper eyelid correction. The doctor will of course do everything in his power to make these scars as visible as possible. After the procedure, the scars will be red in color for the first months, this will disappear over time, after which the scars are barely visible. You will not get scars with the Plexr.
