Botox is a naturally derived protein used to temporarily relax muscles. Botox is injected through injections. At The Body Clinic we use the Azzalure brand for a botox treatment. Botox blocks the ‘tightening signal’ between the nerves in the skin and the muscles in the skin. As a result, the muscles in the skin can no longer be (fully) tightened.
Durability botox treatment
It takes about 1-2 weeks until you have maximum effect, after which the ability to tighten the muscles slowly increases again. New nerve endings then grow back to replace the blocked nerve endings. Treatment should initially be repeated every 3 months.
