## 15 Years of The Body Clinic

The Body Clinic is currently a thriving clinic with no fewer than seven branches, but it certainly didn't start that way. When Bart Biermans founded The Body Clinic 15 years ago, he could never have imagined what it would look like today. On an anniversary, it's customary to look back at the period behind us, so here's a brief history.
It started over 15 years ago in Amsterdam, where Bart, after studying medicine, took his first steps as a cosmetic doctor. Cosmetic medicine was still in its infancy, and a few pioneering doctors offered Botox and filler treatments in beauty salons. In a beauty salon, sign-up lists lay on the counter, and the doctor drove across the country in his car with a cooled case full of vials and syringes.

At that time, a cosmetic (salon) doctor did not have the same standing as a doctor in a hospital. Sometimes you needed a thick skin to maintain your position as a cosmetic doctor, but their perseverance was rewarded, and the treatments caught on.
Bart also had success and soon left behind the life of a salon doctor, renting a beautiful clinic on Koningslaan in Amsterdam. The Body Clinic was born. However, the rent for the clinic was too high for Bart alone, so he shared the location with two other cosmetic doctors, Frodo and Jani. Each had their own “clinic,” so depending on who was working that day, different posters would go on the wall, and the correct trays with brochures would be placed on the tables.

In the years that followed, cosmetic treatments became increasingly popular, and the market developed rapidly. A professional association (NVCG) was founded, and large clinics also began offering cosmetic treatments; the taboo was lifted. The Body Clinic grew with this trend and moved to its own location on Achillesstraat in Amsterdam.

At that time, The Body Clinic also opened a location in Duiven. The clinic's location in Duiven is special. The beautifully renovated monumental farmhouse had served as father Joop's general practice for years, and after his retirement, it was taken over by his son Bart. Proud parents Joop and Riet still help out in the Duiven clinic to this day. A particularly warm and welcoming experience.

In recent years, The Body Clinic has grown significantly, and thanks in part to a collaboration with De Huidkliniek, you can now visit us at no fewer than seven locations in the Netherlands. The future looks bright with a fantastic team of doctors and boundless ambition. The Body Clinic aims to further expand its quality clinics with the goal of nationwide coverage.

Bart Biermans is a cosmetic doctor and founder of The Body Clinic. After studying medicine at Utrecht University, he started one clinic in Amsterdam, which under his leadership has grown into a leading organization with multiple locations in the Netherlands and Germany. With over 20 years of experience in injectables, Bart has developed a clear vision on natural aesthetics, balance, and harmony. Although Bart now only sporadically treats patients, he plays an important role in coaching the doctors within The Body Clinic. He transfers his years of experience by guiding doctors in the same refined working method he developed himself: subtle improvements that suit a person's face, without it being visible that a treatment has taken place. Bart encourages his team to work with small, thoughtful adjustments and to prefer a refined follow-up rather than doing too much at once. In this way, he safeguards natural aesthetics and the preservation of facial expressions as core values within the entire organization. In addition, as director, Bart is closely involved in medical quality, strategic choices, and the further growth of The Body Clinic. His vision on meticulousness, natural results, and realistic aesthetics continues to form the basis of how the clinic operates and grows to this day.
