After perhaps a long consideration, you have decided to get a filler or botox treatment. But what should you pay attention to? Naturally, you want the treatment and products to be safe, and you want to enjoy the results as optimally as possible. After all, it's your face, so it's important that it's done correctly! Below are some tips to help you make your decision with confidence.
Tip 1
Choose a reliable physician
There is no official register yet where cosmetic physicians must register. But you must be sure that a physician is treating you and that he/she must be registered in the BIG register. The BIG register is maintained by the CIBG, an implementing organization of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Anyone can consult the register at www.bigregister.nl. Physicians can also be members of the NVCG. This is an association for cosmetic medicine. This register is also public: www.nvcg.nl. Everyone has the right to honest, factual information about cosmetic treatments. About the possibilities, the expected results, and the risks. The physicians of the NVCG aim to enable as many people as possible to look more beautiful, younger, and healthier. The physicians of The Body Clinic are BIG registered, and Bart Biermans and Nagita Grover are members of the NVCG. We also have over 15 years of experience in cosmetic medicine. Write down all your questions and ask them during a consultation with the physician.

Tip 2
Choose a safe filler / botox
In the Netherlands, it is forbidden to use permanent fillers, so never go to a clinic that offers this. Choose safety and never let yourself be treated with permanent fillers, as this can cause too many dangers and lasting complications. Choose a filler based on hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is an endogenous substance that is naturally dissolved by the body itself within an average of 9 to 12 months. Because it is an endogenous substance, the chance of a foreign body reaction is very small. Hyaluronic acid can also be dissolved by a substance called Hyason (hyaluronidase). Medical devices must have a CE mark (Conformité Européenne) and comply with the guidelines of European legislation. The American FDA (Food and Drug Administration) also closely monitors fillers and botox. On the Dutch government's website, you can also see what questions you can ask your cosmetic physician. During the consultation, ask the physician which brands the clinic uses and if a filler is based on hyaluronic acid. The safe products we use are: Restylane (supplier Galderma), Azzalure (botox | supplier Galderma), Princess (supplier Croma), Teosyal (supplier Entercare), Radiesse (supplier Merz), and Sculptra. These products have been on the market for more than 25 years, and their long-term safety has already been proven.
Tip 3
Don't just look at the price or offers
A good clinic doesn't need to compete on price. After all, you don't know why the price is so low...is it because the product (filler or botox) is mixed with water, what brand (perhaps unregistered) is used?, what quantity is used?, is the treatment performed by a physician? etc. These are all questions you can ask yourself about why a price is lower than average. It's your face, and safety and a natural appearance are more important than the price! The average price for, for example, a zone of botox is 200 euros, and for a lip filler (1ml) is 500 euros. The Body Clinic does not compete on price but on quality, safety, and natural results.
Tip 4
Look at experiences of clients who have already been treated
Check www.kliniekervaringen.nl for client experiences with different physicians and clinics. The Body Clinic has an average rating of 9.4 out of 1131 experiences from our clients.

Tip 5
Ask the physician as much as possible during a consultation
Of course, you have already done research via the internet and then arrive at the clinic/physician of your choice. But what is also important is the (good) feeling you get from a clinic and a physician.
Ask as much as possible during the consultation, such as:
* what brand is used?
* is the filler based on hyaluronic acid?
* what is the expected result?
* do you have before and after photos?
* what is the duration of the result?
* what are the possible complications?
* what is the safety of the product/treatment?
* what is the price?
What are your own expectations?
No physician is allowed to perform a cosmetic treatment (botox and fillers) on a person under 18 years of age. At The Body Clinic, the consultation is always free, and the physicians of The Body Clinic always give honest and well-considered advice, with a natural result as the starting point. Before the consultation, you will answer some medical questions so that the physician is fully aware of your medical background. If you wish to be treated after the consultation, you will receive a treatment agreement that you must carefully read and sign for approval.
It is also always nice to receive a free check-up appointment. Ask for this after a treatment.
If you have any more questions, fears, need more information, or would like a free consultation, you can of course call us at 020-4638668 or send an email to info@bodyclinic.nl. We will give you an honest answer!

Bart Biermans is a cosmetic doctor and founder of The Body Clinic. After studying medicine at Utrecht University, he started one clinic in Amsterdam, which under his leadership has grown into a leading organization with multiple locations in the Netherlands and Germany. With over 20 years of experience in injectables, Bart has developed a clear vision on natural aesthetics, balance, and harmony. Although Bart now only sporadically treats patients, he plays an important role in coaching the doctors within The Body Clinic. He transfers his years of experience by guiding doctors in the same refined working method he developed himself: subtle improvements that suit a person's face, without it being visible that a treatment has taken place. Bart encourages his team to work with small, thoughtful adjustments and to prefer a refined follow-up rather than doing too much at once. In this way, he safeguards natural aesthetics and the preservation of facial expressions as core values within the entire organization. In addition, as director, Bart is closely involved in medical quality, strategic choices, and the further growth of The Body Clinic. His vision on meticulousness, natural results, and realistic aesthetics continues to form the basis of how the clinic operates and grows to this day.
