What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a filler based on calcium hydroxylapatite — natural minerals also found in your teeth and bones. The product is injected into the deep dermis to restore volume and enhance contours. Unique to Radiesse is that it also stimulates your own collagen production for a long-lasting result.

What does a Radiesse treatment involve?

Radiesse is a non-surgical treatment in which a calcium hydroxylapatite-based filler is injected into the deep dermis. The filler consists of calcium and phosphate ions – natural minerals found in teeth and bones. Radiesse restores volume and enhances contours. You get immediate results that continue to develop as the skin becomes firmer from within.

Radiesse Applications

A Radiesse filler treatment offers many possibilities and can be applied to various areas of the face. This includes the nasolabial folds (the line from nose to corner of the mouth), marionette lines, the cheeks and cheekbones, and the tear troughs, or uner-eye bag and circles. Additionally, Radiesse is suitable for the temples, the chin and jawline, and deeper lines around the mouth.

Please note: Radiesse is not suitable for lip augmentation. Due to the color (white) and firmness of the product, our doctors use a hyaluronic acid filler for lip treatments, which provides a more natural and beautiful result in this area.

Our BIG-registered doctors ensure a safe and professional treatment. Please note: not suitable for permanent fillers in the treatment area.

Recovery time
In the first few days, you may experience swelling and bruising. This swelling usually subsides within a few days. Bruises can be camouflaged with make-up after a few hours. Most people can return to work the next day. Plan for limited social obligations for the first 3-4 days.
none provided
Duration of the result
After the treatment, you will see immediate results. The final effect will be visible after 3-5 days, and we will evaluate the result after 2 weeks. The filler typically lasts for an average of 12 months. The exact duration of the final result varies per person, as your body breaks down hyaluronic acid.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find direct answers to questions about treatments, costs, and recovery.

  • Radiesse is a filler based on calcium hydroxylapatite — natural minerals also found in your teeth and bones. The product is injected into the deep skin layer to restore volume and enhance contours. Unique to Radiesse is that it also stimulates your body's own collagen production for a long-lasting result.

  • Yes, only a doctor is authorized to perform this treatment. The doctors at The Body Clinic are BIG-registered.

  • No, our doctors use the natural course of time as a guide for cosmetic correction. Volume is only added in areas where volume loss has occurred. This ensures a beautiful and natural result. Moreover, we adhere to the motto 'less is more'.

  • No, Radiesse does not cause granuloma formation (lumps/bumps). This is in contrast to permanent fillers that were used in the past. Radiesse consists of phosphate and calcium — substances that occur naturally in your body and therefore do not provoke an immune response.

  • No, Radiesse is not suitable for lip augmentation. Due to the product's color (white) and firmness, our doctors use a hyaluronic acid filler for lip treatments. This is less firm and provides a more natural and beautiful result in the lips.

  • This depends on the treated area. Generally, you can return to work the next day. The chance of bruising is relatively small with most Radiesse treatments.

  • A Radiesse treatment is generally not experienced as painful, although this varies from person to person. Nowadays, Radiesse is mixed with lidocaine (anesthetic), which makes the treatment more comfortable. Our doctors also use anesthetic cream and cold packs to reduce any discomfort.

  • No, Radiesse consists of biodegradable substances that are identical to the body's own substances. It contains no human or animal components, virtually eliminating the risk of allergic reactions. You do not need to undergo an allergy test beforehand.

  • The results typically last between 12 to 18 months. This can vary per person, depending on the treated area and your individual skin characteristics.
