What is Botox?

What does a Botox treatment entail?
During a Botox treatment, botulinum toxin is injected into the skin, temporarily relaxing the small muscles in the skin. Because the muscles remain relaxed, wrinkles become softer. The maximum effect is seen after 1-2 weeks and lasts 3-6 months, and after multiple treatments even up to 4-9 months. Pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding cannot be treated.

Botulinum toxin, or Botox, is a neurotoxic substance produced by Clostridium botulinum (a bacterium). This toxin primarily affects the nervous system and muscle function. The remarkable aspect of botulinum toxin is that by using it in very small doses, we can leverage this substance for cosmetic and medical purposes.
Initially, a treatment should be repeated every 3 months. Eventually, the time between treatments will increase to approximately 4-9 months. This varies per treatment and individual.
The starting price for a Botox treatment is €105. The cost of a Botox treatment depends on the type of treatment (difficulty and expertise) and the amount of Botox. At The Body Clinic, only experienced BIG-registered doctors work, who are highly experienced in performing various types of Botox treatments.
After each treatment, you will notice the tattoo fading. It takes approximately 8 weeks for your body to break down the ink particles. After this period, you can schedule the next treatment. The final result will be visible after the last treatment.
At The Body Clinic, we use very fine needles, which minimizes the pain. An anesthetic cream for a Botox treatment is of little use, because the most sensitive part of the treatment is not the needle prick, but the actual injection of the liquid. People who are afraid of needles may find the treatment less pleasant, even though the pain itself is generally not bad. On a pain scale of 0-10, the treatment scores an average of 1.
On the contrary! Because you haven't used the muscles responsible for these wrinkles for a while, you might have somewhat unlearned how to use those muscles. Moreover, the skin, having been inactive for a few months due to the Botox, has been able to recover beautifully.
