Video about botox for frown lines

Frown lines are caused by the contraction of the small muscles between your eyebrows. We can reduce these with Botox for a softer look.

What does the frown line treatment involve?
In a frown line treatment, Botox is injected into your forehead. This relaxes the muscles that cause you to frown. For very deep wrinkles, we sometimes opt for a combination of botox and a filler, so your skin can optimally relax.
After the treatment, you may experience a slight headache, which will subside on its own.

When to get a botox treatment for frown lines?
Do you see a clear frown line or furrow between your eyebrows, even when your face is relaxed? Botox injections can offer a solution to reduce your frown line and give you a softer appearance.

"After visiting three clinics, this one is the best. The Botox they use lasts the longest for me. Today I had a follow-up treatment for my eyebrow lift, and the previous treatment was 5 months ago. At other clinics, it would wear off after just 3 months. Also, the doctor is skilled, explains things well, and injects more often than I was used to. I can definitely recommend The Body Clinic for their Botox treatments."

"What a top doctor! I've tried many doctors, but Rosé is clear and honest, and what's truly amazing is that she gives injections and you feel NO pain."

"Quiet clinic, doctor Mirthe really takes the time to think along with you."

"Excellent result! After a long time of doubting, I finally decided to get fillers to straighten my nose, something that had bothered me for a very long time. I am incredibly happy with the result and the doctor's expertise!"

If the Botox injections are administered correctly, there is no reason to fear drooping eyebrows. The frown muscles actually pull the eyebrow down slightly and are now temporarily deactivated, which is why some people even experience a lifting effect after a frown line treatment.
Yes, that is possible. Because certain muscles relax after a botox treatment, other muscles may tense up, which can lead to tension headaches. You can prevent this in the future by coming in on time for your follow-up treatment. The muscles will then remain relaxed, and the chance of tension headaches will be reduced with a second treatment.
Some celebrities do indeed use too much botulinum toxin, for example in areas around the mouth or forehead. If you immobilize the muscles you use for speaking, for instance, you get the infamous 'poker face effect': a 'plastic' face without expression or mimicry. Such an expressionless face can also be due to too many wrinkle fillers.
Botulinum toxin is only a toxic substance in particularly high concentrations. There are more substances we use daily that are also toxic in high concentrations, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen. In the low concentrations used and permitted for wrinkle and anti-perspiration treatments, it is absolutely not a poison and therefore safe to use!
You can resume your activities immediately after a treatment. A botulinum toxin treatment is rightly called a 'lunchtime treatment'. Besides a slight redness that disappears after half an hour and occasionally a small bruise that can be easily concealed, it's virtually impossible to tell that you've been treated.
Naturally, something changes in your face when the frown lines have been treated with botulinum toxin. However, it is rare for someone to experience this as unnatural. The frown line is a wrinkle that makes the facial expression serious, sullen, or tired. The effect of botox is that your face gets a softer and less tired appearance. Everyone experiences this as positive.
Botox for frown lines typically works for 3-6 months. The maximum effect is visible after 1-2 weeks, after which the wrinkles gradually soften. The effect then slowly diminishes as new nerve endings grow to replace the blocked ones. With repeated treatments, the duration of action can extend to 4-9 months, as the muscles become more accustomed to the relaxed state. For lasting results, regular repetitions are necessary – initially every 3-4 months, later possibly with longer intervals.
Absolutely! It is indeed possible to treat a frown line even if there isn't one yet. Botulinum toxin relaxes the muscle responsible for frowning – so the angry expression will disappear, and you will achieve a nice open and relaxed look.
A frown line treatment with Botox is generally well-tolerated. The treatment feels like several small pinpricks between the eyebrows, comparable to a mosquito bite. Most people experience this as mildly uncomfortable, but not truly painful. On a scale of 0-10, the average pain level is around 2-3. The area between the eyebrows can be slightly more sensitive than, for example, the forehead, but the thin needle and short treatment time (approximately 15 minutes) make it well-tolerable.
A botox treatment for frown lines costs €210. If you also have another area treated in addition to the frown line, the price per area will be lower. For example, the price for 2 botox areas is €360 and for 3 botox areas is €470.
After a botox treatment for frown lines, it's important to stay upright for the first four hours and not to bend over, lean forward, or lie down. For the first 24 hours, do not touch, massage, or apply pressure to the treated frown area. Also avoid intense exercise, heavy exertion, sauna, steam room, swimming, alcohol, and extreme frowning or exaggerated facial expressions. In the first week after the treatment, facial treatments, peels, massages, and other injectables in the same area are not allowed. You can return to your daily activities immediately after the treatment. Slight redness, swelling, or small bruises at the injection sites are normal and will disappear within a few hours to days.
On the contrary! Because you haven't used the muscles responsible for your frown for a while, you may have somewhat unlearned how to use them. After your frown hasn't been active for a period, you will naturally frown much less. Moreover, the skin, having been inactive for a few months due to Botox, has been able to recover beautifully. As a result, the frown lines have also become less deep.
