During an eyelid analysis, the doctor analyzes your eyelids and skin. The doctor also reviews your medical background and determines whether a surgical eyelid correction is suitable for your situation. This way, you know exactly what to expect.
Before your treatment, the doctor will go through the procedure with you and answer any questions. The doctor will mark the part of the skin to be removed. Around the eyes, you will receive a local anesthetic with an injection.
Excess skin is skillfully removed. The incisions are precisely placed in the eyelid folds, making scars almost invisible over time. The skin is sutured, and the treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes. The treatment itself is painless.
Immediately after the treatment, you can cool down at our clinic. If desired, you can take some time to relax before going home. The doctor will discuss with you what you can and cannot do in the coming days. You will receive plasters on the incision sites.

The eyelid correction promotion offers a free consultation with one of the specialized doctors. On the day of the operation, you will be picked up and brought home free of charge by a taxi*, so you can concentrate on the surgery. Afterwards, you will receive an ice pack to cool your eyelids.

This treatment is performed by our specialized doctors Mirthe van der Putten, Hugo Ammerlaan and Marleen Ghijsens, who have many years of experience with this procedure. These doctors have extensive experience with upper eyelid corrections and strive for natural, long-lasting results.
After upper eyelid correction, you cannot immediately wear contact lenses again. To insert your lenses, you have to touch your eyelid. This can negatively affect recovery. Therefore, we advise you to wear glasses for 10 to 14 days after the procedure.
After upper eyelid correction, you should not wear eye make-up. No make-up should get into the wounds on your eyelid. You can apply eye make-up again after 2 weeks. On the day of the operation, please do not wear any (eye) make-up.
Recovery after an upper eyelid correction is relatively quick. After 7 to 9 days, almost every patient has recovered, and swelling or bruising is virtually no longer visible. Full recovery takes approximately 2-4 weeks. The final result is fully visible after about 3 to 6 months when the scars have blended in.

After two weeks, you can gradually resume exercising. Always be careful not to put too much pressure on your eyes. We recommend avoiding contact sports for at least one month.

Every surgical procedure leaves scars, and this also applies to surgical upper eyelid correction. The doctor will, of course, do everything possible to make these scars as minimally visible as possible. The incisions are placed precisely in the natural folds of the skin, making them almost invisible over time. After the procedure, the scars will be red for the first few months; this will fade over time, making the scars barely visible.
Preferably, you should keep the area dry for a week, and if it does get wet, you can very carefully pat it dry. This prevents the wounds from getting irritated and promotes a speedy recovery.
The stitches will be removed by the doctor at our clinic after 7 days. After the treatment, you can immediately make an appointment at the reception desk to have the stitches removed. This follow-up appointment is free of charge.
