What are fillers?
In a filler treatment, we temporarily fill creases or wrinkles in your skin with a gel based on hyaluronic acid. This is a body's own substance that gives your skin volume and a smoother appearance from within. While botulinum toxin relaxes the muscles to reduce wrinkles, a filler works by filling.
Two applications of fillers
Fillers are used for wrinkle treatment and contour restoration. For wrinkle treatment, we fill fine lines around the mouth, dark circles under the eyes, and lips with hyaluronic acid from the Restylane, Saypha or Teosyal range.
For contour restoration, we compensate for the volume loss that occurs due to aging. By filling the contours, we restore the youthful V-shape of the face. This can be done for cheekbones, temples, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and jawline.

Safety of fillers
The fillers our doctors use are extremely safe. We primarily work with hyaluronic acids whose long-term safety has been proven. Because hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin, the chance of an allergic reaction is very small. Moreover, hyaluronic acid can be actively dissolved with Hyason if necessary. All possible side effects are discussed during the consultation.
Injectables: fillers or botox?
Fillers are injected with thin needles or cannulas, which results in fewer bruises. You see immediate results, which are complete after 7-14 days. The effect lasts for about 12 months, after which the filler is broken down by the body. Our doctors are happy to advise you on the choice between botulinum toxin or a filler injectable.

The process of dissolving fillers can be perceived as uncomfortable. The average pain score is 7 out of 10, which is higher than for filler injections. This is because Hyalase must be injected into the filler, which can cause more discomfort. If needed, an anesthetic cream can be used to enhance comfort.
Dissolving hyaluronic acid fillers can be done at least two weeks after the filler has been placed. This is an absolute minimum; in some cases, a longer waiting period may be necessary. Filler placement causes swelling. A doctor may advise you to wait longer (up to 6 weeks) before dissolving the filler. Often, the final result, completely free of all swelling, is only visible after this six-week period. Only then can you truly assess whether you are satisfied with the result or if you wish to have the filler dissolved.
Depending on the filler used, the results typically last for approximately 9 to 12 months. After this period, the effect gradually diminishes. This can vary from person to person.
When hyaluronic acid fillers have been placed incorrectly or in a difficult manner, making them hard to dissolve, you can opt to have your fillers dissolved under ultrasound guidance. The doctor dissolving the filler will use an ultrasound machine to precisely locate the filler, allowing for more accurate treatment. The ultrasound not only visualizes body tissues but also previously injected fillers. This enables the doctor to dissolve the filler very precisely, even in hard-to-reach areas.
There are many different types of fillers on the market. We primarily work with hyaluronic acid-based fillers. If you have previously been treated with a different temporary filler, please try to find out exactly which product was used. This allows us to assess whether one filler might react differently to another. If permanent fillers have ever been used, we advise you, to avoid unnecessary risks, not to treat the same area again.
