Ramadan is over, and for many, that means returning to the daily rhythm. Did you stop medication for medical weight loss during the fasting month? Then it's important to resume it correctly. We've listed the most important considerations for you.

Start Low and Build Up Gradually

After an interruption, your body is no longer accustomed to the medication. Therefore, it's essential to restart with a low dosage and gradually build it up step by step. This minimizes the risk of (severe) side effects and gives your body time to readjust.

Account for Longer Delivery Times

Have you ordered new medication? In some cases, the pharmacy automatically schedules an appointment with a doctor before the medication is shipped. This is done to re-evaluate the correct dosage and to assess any changes in your medical situation. Therefore, be aware that it might take a bit longer for your order to arrive.

Gradually Re-establish Your Eating Pattern

During Ramadan, your eating pattern has changed significantly. Now, gradually return to six eating moments per day. This helps you stay satiated, supports your muscle mass, and reduces the risk of gallstones — which, in the worst case, can lead to gallbladder or pancreatitis inflammation.
