A referral is not mandatory, but it helps to securely share relevant medical information and coordinate the treatment effectively.

Medical Weight Loss at The Body Clinic

The Body Clinic guides individuals with overweight or obesity through a medical treatment pathway, with or without the aid of GLP-1 medication. Our doctor assesses with the patient which treatment is appropriate and medically responsible.

  • Doctor – Assesses the health situation, treatment options, and whether (and which) medication is suitable during the intake.
  • Treatment Plan – A personalized treatment plan is drawn up after the intake.
  • Coach – Guides the patient along with the doctor throughout the process.

When is a referral useful?

Consider a patient with overweight or obesity who wishes to discuss a medically supervised treatment pathway, for example, when previous attempts at weight loss have been insufficient or when weight-related health problems are present.

We treat patients with obesity and overweight patients with health risks in the form of comorbidities, an increased waist circumference, and/or otherwise medical, physical, or mental burden from overweight.

Relevant contraindications:

  • severe heart, liver, or kidney failure
  • pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • current psychopathology: severe depression, an addiction, or eating disorder
  • age younger than 18 or older than 85 years

With complete data, our doctor can properly prepare for the intake and carefully assess your patient.

  • Medical history: relevant patient medical history
  • Current medication: what medication the patient is currently using
  • Allergies: known allergies
  • Previous treatments: any previous treatments for overweight
  • Recent measurements: recent patient measurements
  • Blood test results: glucose, lipid spectrum, thyroid function, and kidney function
