Yes, you can administer the injections yourself. During your first session with your Medical Weight Loss Coach, your coach will show you how to administer the injection into your thigh, abdomen, or upper arm. You will then independently administer the injections with the pen. Our YouTube channel also has videos with injection instructions.

Most people experience weight loss within the first week. The minimum is a 5% weight loss from the starting weight after 12 weeks. Otherwise, the treatment will be discontinued in consultation.

It is not advisable to use the medication for a short period. This increases the chance of regaining weight after stopping. Studies show that people can lose weight with the medication for 1 to 2 years. It can also take some time for a new lifestyle to become a new habit. The chance of sustainable weight loss is increased by durable lifestyle changes. That is why The Body Clinic offers this as a total package. If, despite all efforts, you are unable to maintain your weight without medication, you can continue a program with a maintenance dose for, for example, 6 or 12 months. If you have not lost at least 5% of your starting weight after 12 weeks, this may indicate that the medication is not the solution for you and perhaps other medication is more suitable. We therefore advise you to book a consultation with your treating physician.

The medicines are only available by prescription, so you cannot order them without a consultation and prescription from a doctor. At The Body Clinic, you always start with a Starter program, which includes two coaching sessions. For the follow-up, you get the option to choose between Independent or Care guidance. With Independent guidance, the coach is optional, but you remain under medical supervision of a doctor throughout the entire program.

Your GP can also prescribe weight loss medication, and a pharmacy must always supply and stock the medication. However, some GPs do not feel they have sufficient experience guiding the process associated with this medication. That is why The Body Clinic works closely with GPs, and patients who wish to follow this treatment path are often referred to us. Our coaches provide the right and appropriate lifestyle guidance. Inquire with your GP about the possibilities.

The medication used in these treatments varies per person and situation. There is a possibility that it may be reimbursed by a health insurer, provided strict conditions are met.
