The treatment
During the intake appointment, preceding your treatment, we will map out your health condition and walk you through the pre-treatment and post-treatment protocols. On the day of you treatment, you are asked to arrive thirty minutes in advance – without make-up – so as to receive the numbing cream. The procedure itself only takes about 15 minutes per area (lower eyelids/upper eyelids/above-lip wrinkles). You will be able to cool the area after treatment. Please note that prices advertised in our videos might differ from current prices.

Natural result
How does a PlexR treatment ensure a natural result? This is because you can see exactly what happens while our doctors are treating you. They ‘dissolve’, as it were, the piece of skin that is responsible for laxity in the area. What you see is what you get. During the procedure, you yourself can determine whether you would like certain areas smoothed out a little more, or whether the effect is already sufficient. This very direct method of working guarantees a natural result.

Before every PlexR treatment, it is customary that we first schedule a consultation session and only after that the actual treatment appointment. We kindly ask you to arrive thirty minutes in advance of your appointment, so that we can prepare the relevant area with an anaesthetic cream. Please quit taking any blood-thinning medication such as Naproxen, Ibuprofen or Ascal. Consult your family doctor if this is a problem for you. For faster recovery, consider taking Arnica drops, starting five days before your treatment.
Important: Stay out of the sun completely for the first week. After this, avoid direct sunlight and protect the treated area with a sunscreen for a minimum of six weeks. Do not moisten the treated area for the first 48 hours. Avoid touching the treated area. Do not pick at the scabs. Do not apply make-up to the treated area until after the scabs have fallen off.
During the first week scabs will form and it will be plainly visible that you have undergone treatment. After the scabs have fallen off, you may continue to suffer redness of the skin for the duration of several weeks. You are, however, allowed to camouflage this redness. In rare cases, this redness will subsist for a longer period.
In some cases, a follow-up treatment may be necessary. The results are permanent, until the natural ageing causes the skin to slacken.
Free intake
Before we treat you with Plexr, you’ll need to make an intake appointment with one of our doctors, to verify if you qualify for this type of treatment. During this intake, one of our doctors will map out your health and discuss possible alternatives with you. We will also take photographs of the treatment area. We will discuss pre- and post-treatment regimes with you and any side effects or risks that might come with the treatment.
Safety
A Plexr treatment is extremely safe. As opposed to laser treatment, proper use of the Plexr equipment will ensure that no damage is inflicted to the dermis, bypassing any unpleasant complications such as hypopigmentation. The doctors of The Body Clinic have deliberately waited with purchasing the Plexr device for a number of years, to ensure the safety of the technique. PlexR treatments have now been carried out in the Netherlands for three years and many tens of thousands of clients have since have successful Plexr.

FAQ
How does PlexR work?
PlexR works on the basis of plasma created as a result of ionizing gas molecules. As soon as the energy bundle hits the skin, it generates a pointwise arc of charged plasma. This causes the skin fibers to contract, which has a lifting effect. PlexR works on the deeper skin layers, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin fibers.
In which areas can PlexR be utilized?
PlexR is not only suited for tightening the skin around the eyes, but can also be effectively used to combat wrinkles in the areas around the cheeks, neck and mouth.
Is PlexR always better than an eyelid correction?
No, this is not the case. Should there be excess fat in the area to be treated, then you are advised to undergo a conventional eyelid correction instead.
Is Plexr a lunchtime treatment?
No, PlexR is not a lunchtime treatment. You will need about a week to recover from this procedure. The scabs will fall off in a week’s time. The accompanying skin redness can be easily camouflaged.
Can I combine PlexR with a filler treatment?
The correct order is PlexR first, then a filler. Should you already have a filler present in the area you would like to be treated with PlexR, do come in for a free and non-binding review.
How long will the effects of a PlexR treatment subsist?
The results of a PlexR treatment are permanent, although the process of aging will of course continue and eventually slacken the skin once again. You can slow this process by optimising certain lifestyle factors. The following factors speed up the aging process: smoking, sunlight and bad skincare. Sometimes a second PlexR treatment is necessary to achieve an optimal result.
What are the side effects and risks that come with a PlexR treatment?
Among other things, these are the side effects you will experience in the first few weeks: swelling (1-3 days), skin redness (2-4 weeks) and scab formation (7 days) in the treated area. Stay out of the sun during the first few weeks after your PlexR treatment. You will receive a follow-up protocol to take home, which you should follow to the letter. As PlexR stays within the superficial skin layers, no permanent damage can be done to the skin itself, as is the case with other laser treatments.
Are there any contraindications? Can I have PlexR treatment?
As with most cosmetic procedures, the minimum age of treatment in the Netherlands is 18 years. Also, we do not treat pregnant or nursing women. Some darker skin types are not suitable for a PlexR treatment.
What are the advantages of a PlexR treatment over surgery (eyelid correction)?
PlexR is cheaper than a surgical intervention, and leaves you with zero scars. Moreover, a PlexR treatment will increase the firmness of your skin, whilst a surgical eyelid correction actually thins out the skin.
How much does a PlexR treatment cost?
