Be kind to your skin: Sunfactor 50 spray from Heliocare

Summer has almost started but we can already enjoy the nice weather. Warm temperatures, catching a terrace or going to the beach. Yet you quickly underestimate that glowing orb!
Sensible tanning is therefore done with a good sunscreen. How do you prepare for the sun? In any case, let your skin slowly get used to the bright rays. When you go out into the sun for the first time in a long time, your skin is not used to it. You also want to avoid looking like a red lobster. It is said that skin that has been badly burned once remains extra sensitive to the sun for life.
I myself am very sensitive to the sun. With fair skin and also very sensitive skin, I’m still worried after applying 6 times in an afternoon that I’ll come back as a red glow worm. My hair is blond and I have a lot of freckles, you could say a real summer type. Well, that sunscreen is my favorite accessory every summer. No more patio or beach without factor 50 for me!

Sunscreen

Sunscreen products are made specifically to prevent sunburn. They contain UV filters, so less UV radiation reaches the skin. However, a remedy that filters all UV radiation does not exist!

A sunfactor should therefore be seen as an additional measure, in addition to wearing protective clothing and seeking shade between 12:00-15:000 p.m. (which is not always possible when you are on vacation)

The misconception that arises is that many people think you won’t tan from a high-factor sunscreen.
Nonsense, your skin may take a little longer to pick up color. But better to think long-term than short-term. Be kind to your skin!

What skin type do you have and what sun factor fits that?

  • Skin type I: very light skin. People with this skin type tan very little or not at all and burn very quickly. Recommended SPF 25-50.
  • Skin type II: light skin. A person with this skin type will burn quickly and tan only slowly. Recommended SPF 15-35.
  • Skin type III: lightly toned skin. These people do not burn as quickly and tan easily. Recommended SPF 10-25.
  • Skin type IV: toned skin. A person with this skin type tans quickly and almost never burns. Recommended SPF 5-15.

Besides choosing the right product, there is an important rule when tanning: apply generously and regularly. Don’t skimp on sunscreen. I certainly didn’t! The tube went with us on vacation and so it was empty within week!!! The vacation went to Barcelona, warm temperatures and thus a nice bright sunshine.
Since I have to grease almost every 5 minutes, this was therefore a challenge not to burn. Unfortunately, I had forgotten one part: the tops of my feet.
Important lesson then is, don’t forget to lubricate your entire skin! Your feet are easy to forget, but they too can burn.

Sunfactor 50 spray from Heliocare reliable and easy to use

The spray is super easy to use! You spray it on your body in no time and it spreads easily. It absorbs quickly and you are ready to tan! The advantage of the spray is that it is also suitable for children. A family product, in other words.
The Heliocare Spray & 360 air gel (suitable for the face) went into the suitcase with us.

The tube is quite full but easy to carry.
After swimming I did repeat the spray again, but as you could read earlier I am skin type 1. (smear a lot, with high factor) The packaging states that the product is water-resistant.

Heliocare’s Sunfactor 50 spray costs $29.50 and is available at The Body Clinic.

A few more tips for you to get into the sun responsibly:

    • Enjoy the sun, but think about your skin.
    • Gently acclimatize the skin to the sun and avoid sunburn.
    • Seek shade between noon-15 p.m.
    • In full sun, preferably wear a cap or sun hat and clothing.
    • Going out in the sun for a long time? Then apply sunscreen well to uncovered skin.
    • Apply regularly and in fair skin more than regularly!
    • Ask at the drugstore or pharmacy for information on the proper protection factor.
    • Follow instructions for use of solar equipment carefully.
    • Get out of the sun and certainly not under a tanning bed if your skin reacts strangely with, for example, rashes, itching or rapid burning.
    • Consult a physician if necessary.
    • UV radiation helps with some skin conditions, but not others.
