Treating acne scars with a hyaluronic acid filler is relatively unknown. The result, however, is startling. A filler with hyaluronic acid attracts moisture (water) and this provides more volume to the face and also hydration. By filling the dents or craters in your skin from the inside, the skin regains about the same volume as the surrounding skin. This eliminates the need for scarring.

How does acne scar treatment work?
Upon entering our clinic in Amsterdam or Duiven, your health is first assessed through a medical questionnaire. Photographs are also taken so that during the check-up treatment (two weeks after the first treatment) you can review the results with the doctor. Next, the area where the scars are located is numbed with a cream. This ensures that the treatment is virtually painless. Of course, this varies from person to person.

The doctor looks closely at the area and discusses with you the options for filling the scars with hyaluronic acid. Scars in the form of dark or red spots (hyperpigmentation) and scars with tissue growth, can also be treated – to a somewhat lesser extent. Facial scars with tissue loss are, in most cases, well suited for treatment with a hyaluronic acid filler.

The price for acne scar removal is 500 euros per treatment. Usually one treatment is enough, but in some cases the cosmetic doctor may recommend a second treatment for optimal results.
