During the free consultation, the skin therapist examines your spider veins and asks about your medical background. Are there also varicose veins or other vascular problems? In that case, we advise you to consult a doctor first.

Preparation for the treatment

The area to be treated is cleaned. Your skin must be clean and undamaged, without body lotion or self-tanner.

The treatment

The skin therapist treats the veins with a laser. The laser light is absorbed by the blood in the vessel and converted into heat, which closes off the vessel. You will feel the pulses as a short, warm prick. Simultaneously, the skin is cooled. The treatment lasts 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area.

Recovery after the treatment

After the treatment, the skin may be slightly red. You will receive clear aftercare instructions from your skin therapist. If desired, you can relax for a while before resuming your daily activities.

Follow-up appointment

For the best results, an average of 2 to 6 treatments are needed, with 6 to 8 weeks in between. You can schedule a follow-up appointment directly at the clinic.

Pre- and post-care

Before the treatment

Arrive with clean skin, free of body lotion or self-tanner. Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for weeks before the treatment: tanned skin cannot be treated safely. Do not come to the appointment with damaged or sunburned skin.

After the treatment

For the first 5 days, avoid sports, saunas, hot baths, and swimming pools. Protect the treated skin from the sun and use SPF30+ daily on the treated area.

Recovery time

No recovery time is needed. The treated spots may be red or slightly swollen for the first few days. Your body's clearing of the veins takes up to 10 - 12 weeks.

Duration of results

After each treatment, you will see improvement after 6 to 8 weeks. Treated veins do not return. However, new veins can develop due to genetic predisposition, pregnancy, or an occupation requiring prolonged standing. A maintenance treatment is then possible.

For laser therapy for scars, various lasers are available, each with a specific mode of action. At The Body Clinic, we select the most suitable laser based on your skin condition and the type of acne or scars. This targeted approach combats inflammation and restores the skin for optimal results.

IPL works based on light beams delivered to the skin that act on inflammation in the skin. If many red inflammations are visible on the skin, this option can be chosen. IPL is particularly effective for active acne with significant redness and inflammation.
If there is coarse skin texture and red or brown acne scars, a fractional laser is chosen. The fractional laser heats the skin, stimulating collagen production. Only the deeper skin layers are treated with this laser, resulting in a short recovery time for the skin.
For optimal results, laser therapy can be combined with a chemical peel. The combination of the right laser, which works in the deeper skin layers, and a peel that subsequently acts as an anti-inflammatory for active acne, has proven very effective. With a combination treatment, you receive a 20% discount on the total amount.
