Presenter Stijn is about to get jawline fillers, but then….

In this documentary series, Stijn de Vries examines the male ideal of beauty and his own insecurities in this area. Feeling insecure about his jawline for some time, he visited The Body Clinic for jawline filler treatment. To his horror, this treatment with fillers could not take place.
Increasing number of cosmetic procedures in men
Since 1997, cosmetic surgery among men has increased 325%. Yet it appears that insecurities in men are not often discussed and there still seems to be a great taboo when it comes to cosmetic surgery in men. In this four-part documentary series, Stijn explores where the new ideal of beauty among men comes from and whether it makes you happier to succumb to it. He engages in conversation with men who deal with insecurities in their own way as well as tackles Stijn’s own insecurities. He stopped by The Body Clinic for treatment with jawline fillers. Together with our doctor Nicoline Nijman, Stijn discusses his wishes and Nicoline explains what a filler is and what you can do with it.
Bsure DNA test
Two weeks before the jaw filler treatment, Stijn visited us to undergo the Bsure DNA test. He wanted to make every effort to get the safest possible treatment. A filler treatment is a safe, non-surgical cosmetic treatment. Still, sometimes things can go wrong, even if the treatment was done correctly and professionally. In fact, you may have a genetic predisposition that causes your own immune system to react extremely to fillers. Stijn decided to have DNA taken from his cheek mucosa before his treatment. On the day Stijn was to undergo his treatment with jawline fillers, doctor Nicoline told him the results. Much to his surprise, Stijn was found to have an increased risk of a filler rejection reaction, so the doctor strongly advised against the treatment. Stijn was extremely happy to have this DNA test done and to be spared the increased risk of serious complications!
